About MinimStreamer

You can use MinimStreamer to transcode audio files in your library to a different format and/or resolution. This is useful for playing a file on a renderer that can't play the original file. Also, some transcoding combinations (for example, FLAC to WAV) can improve sound quality. To configure MinimServer transcoding, set the stream.transcode property on the MinimStreamer Properties tab. For information about setting this property, see the Transcoding section of the MinimStreamer user guide.

You can also use MinimStreamer to play internet radio streams. Many internet radio URLs need special processing and/or transcoding to play the stream on a UPnP renderer. MinimStreamer provides this special processing. For details of how to play a network stream using MinimStreamer, see the Playing network streams with MinimStreamer section of the MinimStreamer user guide. MinimStreamer can transcode network streams as well as local files.

MinimStreamer can also make recordings of internet radio streams, including unattended timed recordings. To make a recording, set the stream.record property on the MinimStreamer Properties tab. For information about setting this property, see the Making recordings section of the MinimStreamer user guide.
